Open Technology
Platform
Our vision of making community
toolbars globally pervasive resulted in building
of an open global platform with universal
compatibility with IE, Firefox and other
standards. Our publishers have the ability to
plug and play into their community toolbar
various packaged and custom components. This
results in a superior customized experience for
community members.
The strengths of our Open Technology
Platform are:
Component
Driven
Our platform
supports the ability to develop unique
community toolbars, differentiated by their
branding, components, features and layout.
This allows us to support millions of
community toolbars with the same platform
and to continue to offer new components and
features at a global level to all
publishers. Publishers have the ability to
continuously select and offer custom
components that result in a unique branded
community toolbar.
Web-based
components
One of our
technology's unique features is the ability
to build a component based on a web page,e.g
, an HTML page located on the publisher’s
web site. This technology enables toolbar
publishers to create dynamic components that
can communicate directly with their website
(or other websites for that matter) and
create an open environment based on familiar
web technologies.
TPI (Toolbar
Programming Interface)
An extension of
the web-based components technology, the TPI
enables the web component to interact with a
toolbar. For instance, it checks the URL on
the main page, navigates the main browser to
a specific URL, and refreshes the toolbar.
Auto update
Our toolbars
have a built-in auto-update mechanism, which
allows us to remotely update the toolbar
code when needed. This allows us to update
all installed toolbars after any editing
action made by the publisher, as well as
upgrade the toolbars with newer code
versions.
Safe code and
user security
The toolbar does
not contain any spyware, adware, malware,
and does not create any security holes or
affect the browsing. It is based on standard
XML components and is digitally signed to
ensure that no security holes are created.
Minimum
processing requirements
The Conduit
toolbar is really light on the processors,
network bandwidth and disk space. All our
toolbars send and receive the minimum
required traffic and require minimal
computer CPU usage.
